(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement Wednesday on the Supreme Court’s decision to block implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) power regulations:

“The Supreme Court’s decision to block implementation of the EPA’s so-called ‘Clean Power Plan’ while the legal challenges proceed represents another blow to the Obama Administration’s lame-duck regulatory agenda. The fact is, the president’s unprecedented environmental regulations will do nothing to lower the cost of electricity, but will only serve to pass on millions in compliance costs to Arizona businesses and consumers – especially harming low-income families who are least able to afford electricity rate hikes. I’m confident that as these and other legal challenges proceed, the courts will continue to find the president’s economy-crippling executive actions unconstitutional.”
