Sierra Southwest Cooperative Services Inc. serves the renewable energy needs of our members and customers by maximizing solar and other renewable tax credits through cooperative lenders.
Sierra is responsible for two utility-scale solar and three stand-alone battery energy storage projects (BESS):
- 20-MW Apache Solar I, northeast of the Apache Generating Station in Cochise, Arizona
- 2-MW SunAnza solar field and accompanying battery adjacent to the Anza Electric Cooperative headquarters in Anza, California, forming a unique microgrid for the isolated high-desert community
- Three stand-alone BESS totaling 35 MW, each serving one cooperative in their respective service areas.
Sierra’s board of directors is composed of two members from the AEPCO board.
